So curling camp is done and now we head into camping mode. It took a long time to repack the car last night. We woke to the weirdest smoky yellow skies. We decided to change our plans. We were originally going to go to the Snow Valley Aerial Park, but decided considering the amount of smoke we shouldn’t. Instead we started our travels south towards Rocky Mountain House.

We stop in Red Deer to get some supplies and drive our way to RMH historic site. We get there a couple hours before they close so we cruised the interpretive Center and hung out at the Metis tent and ate bannock. Kai didn’t want to leave the virtual reality Minecraft world of the historic site.

Marlo’s friend had told her about this amazing tubing spot in Red Deer. We decided to check it out and boy was it worth it. It was a ways out of town, but a free activity. Tube rental was 5$.

Next we drive to the campsite to spend the night in a tipi! We tried our hand at making bannock (which didn’t go so well) and listened to a First Nations man who came to visit and entertain sing and drum.
